Occupational Health and Safety Policy
The purpose of the “OHS Policy” is to guarantee the safety and health of our workers, providing a safe and healthy work environment, adopting the necessary measures to avoid accidents and / or diseases derived from the development of work, in order to contribute to that no operator working in our organization may suffer physical or mental illnesses because of the work done.
MNW‘s Occupational Health and Safety Policy is based on the following principles
- Commitment to provide safe and healthy working conditions for the prevention of work-related injuries and illnesses and is appropriate to the purpose, size and context of the organization and to the specific nature of its OHS risks and OHS opportunities;
- Commitment to zero tolerance in the consumption of any substance that may endanger the safety of the worker himself, as well as his colleagues.
- Zero tolerance commitment to any harassment/intimidation conduct that may result in a risk to workers.
- The assignment of responsibilities related to safety and health at work must be clear and known within the organization.
- Provide all employees with the knowledge, required skills and safety information necessary for the execution of the assigned task to be carried out safely, including but not limited to machine safety, forklift driving, safe lifting of loads and in the use of personal protective equipment.
- Provide a framework for setting OHS objectives.
- Commitment to comply with legal and other requirements.
- The organization shall establish, implement and maintain a process(s) for hazard elimination and OHS risk reduction using the following hierarchy of controls:
- eliminate the hazard;
- substitution with less hazardous processes, operations, materials or equipment;
- use engineering controls and work reorganization;
- use administrative controls, including training;
- use appropriate personal protective equipment
- Commitment to the continuous improvement of the OSH management system.
- Periodic risk assessments will be carried out both for the job and for psychosocial risks, as well as in case of organizational changes to allow effective prioritization of the risks that arise.
- Commitment to transparency in the organization that favors the consultation and participation of workers and, if it exists, of workers’ representatives. In this way they will be aware of both their rights and obligations in terms of OHS, informing of the possible risks derived from their work, thus participating in the required improvement in the management system, remembering that the safety of the worker comes first.
- Investigation of the risks, incidents and accidents that may occur, and must be duly investigated, informed and adopting the necessary corrective measures so that they do not occur again.
